Question

Describe the houses of Harappan Civilization.

Open in App
Solution

Usually the houses built in the Harappan Civilization were one or two storeys high. Around the courtyard, the rooms were constructed. For water supply, houses had wells. Majority of the houses had separate bathing areas. The houses had a proper drainage system. The drains from the houses were connected to the drains situated in the streets and these drains were connected to the bigger drains. Streets, houses, and drains were probably planned and built simultaneously.
