Difference between regeneration and budding

The difference between budding and regeneration is that:

Budding is defined as the process in which the buds grow on the outside of the parent body. These buds, when grow large enough, they detach from the parent. Hydra is an example of budding.


Regeneration is defined as the process in which the cell divide to regrow the lost body part. Starfish is an example of regeneration.
