Earthquakes Earthquakes cannot be easily predicted. Shaking of the Earth’s surface takes place. Earthquakes do not release magma. Earthquakes can take place in the part of the Earth. It originates from deep within the mantle.

Volcanoes Volcanoes can be easily predicted. When tectonic plates collide with each other, magma rises and volcanoes are formed. Volcanoes cannot take place in every part of the Earth and can only take place where the opening in the Earth’s crust is seen. Volcanoes are seen on the Earth’s surface.
