Natural disasters are disasters caused by natural forces. Natural disasters take place regardless of human activities. Steps can be taken to minimise the effect. Example: floods, volcanic eruptions, droughts and landslides.

    Man-made disasters are caused by the activities of human beings. Man-made disasters take place due to human activities. Proper planning can prevent man-made disaster. Example: biological attacks, explosions, and chemical attacks.
