Discuss the major components of population growth.

Birth rate, death rate, migration, and improved health facilities are the major components of population growth. The birth rate is the ratio between the number of live-born births in the year and the average total population of that year. Mortality rate, or death rate, is a measure of the number of deaths (in general, or due to a specific cause) in a particular population, scaled to the size of that population, per unit of time.
