distinguish between insolation and terrestrial radiation

Insolation: It is the solar energy received by the Earth. It travels in short waves. Only 52% of insolation is received by the Earth, and the remaining energy is absorbed by the clouds or water vapour. Terrestrial radiation: It is the radiation given back to the atmosphere and space. It travels in long waves. Out of 52% of insolation received by the Earth, some are transferred to the atmosphere and space.
