Distinguish between silk and wool fibres

The key difference between silk and wool is their ability to retain warmth. Although fabrics made from both silk and wool retain warmth, wool is a more better insulator of heat. Apart from this, it should also be noted that silk is manufactured from cocoons of silkworms while wool is made from the fur of animals such as goats and sheep.
