Solution
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid):
It is an organic chemical, which comprises instructions and genetic information for the synthesis of protein.
It is found in the majority of the cells of every organism.
The importance of DNA copying:
DNA is the carrier of genetic information.
It is the blueprint of essential information.
For a parent to generate offspring of its kind, the offspring must carry similar DNA as found in parents.
Therefore, replication of DNA or DNA copying is the sole way via which a cell produces additional copies of similar DNA that can be transmitted to its offspring.
Thus, it can be said that DNA copying is an important mechanism for reproduction.
The process, which results in the production of offspring is reproduction, it is of two types, that is, asexual and sexual reproduction.
