Solution

Compost:

  1. Compost is an organic substance made from solid animal manure that is used to enhance soil quality and boost the output of nutritious crops. It is both affordable and a natural source of fertilizer. The nutrients nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium are abundant in livestock manure.
  2. Compost is rich in nutrients and can be used for a wide range of purposes, including landscaping, blending topsoil, and growth media.
  3. Due to the ammonia loss during composting, compost has less nitrogen than biosolids from other stabilization techniques. However, compost releases nitrogen more gradually and makes it available to plants for a longer period of time, which is more in line with plant absorption requirements.
  4. Class A biosolids can be produced from well-composted sludge, which can then be sold to distributors and the general public.
  5. Sandy soils' water content and retention are increased with compost.
  6. Clay soils benefit from compost's increased aeration and water infiltration.
  7. Processes like windrow and aerated static piles are easy to use, require little in the way of complex mechanical equipment, and can adapt to changing feed parameters and peak loads.
  8. Processes carried out inside vessels need only a minimal amount of space and can manage odors.
  9. Chemicals called fertilizers are applied to crops to boost productivity. The fertilizers include nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, which are crucial elements that plants need. They also raise the soil's fertility while enhancing its ability to retain water.

Usage of compost over fertilizer:

  1. Waste from plants and animals is used to create compost. Therefore, it decomposes quickly.
  2. In contrast to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, which pollutes the soil and water, it does not contribute any hazardous compounds to the soil.
  3. Composting is simple to prepare.
  4. As compost has no health risks to people or animals, it is environmentally friendly.
  5. Enhancing soil fertility with compost
  6. Compost degrades naturally.
