Solution

Human respiratory system:

  1. The respiratory system is a network of organs and tissues that work together to do respiration including the nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, alveoli, lungs, and heart.

These organs work together to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide between the external environment and the body

  1. Nasal cavity: The nasal passages filter the air and make it moist
  2. Pharynx: The throat is the passageway that carries air down from the mouth and nose
  3. Larynx: It is a hollow tube that facilitates the passage of air from the throat to the trachea
  4. Trachea: Its main function is to carry air in and out of the lungs
  5. Bronchi: A long tube that connects to the trachea and directs the air to the lungs
  6. Lungs: The main foundation of the respiratory system that facilitates the exchange of gas from the environment into the bloodstream
  7. Alveoli: It is a network of blood capillaries to facilitate the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen between the lungs and bloodstream
  8. Heart: It is the circulatory system that pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of the body through arteries
