Draw a line segment AB of length 8cm. Taking A as centre, draw a circle of radius4cm and taking B as centre, draw another circle of radius 3cm . Construct tangents to each circle from the centre of the other circle.

Step 1: Draw the circle

Draw a line segment AB of length 8cm.Taking A as centre and radius 4cm

Now taking B as centre and radius 3cm, draw circles.

Step 2: Draw the required tangents

Now taking AB as diameter, draw the third circle which intersects the given two circles at points C,D,PandQ respectively. Now join AC,AD,BPandBQ

Therefore, AC,AD,BPandBQ are the required tangents.
