Question

Eddy currents are produced due to changes in?

Open in App
Solution

Eddy currents:

  1. Eddy currents are formed whenever a conductor moves through a magnetic field and whenever the magnetic field around the stationary conductor changes.
  2. Eddy currents could therefore be produced whenever the intensity and direction of a magnetic field in a conductor fluctuate.
  3. Modifying the magnetic flux generates an e.m.f., which results in induced current, also known as eddy current.

Therefore, eddy currents are produced due to changes in magnetic flux.
