Explain the effects of clearance and destruction of natural vegetation.

Clearance and destruction of natural vegetation impacts the environment significantly, whether it is a small scale or large-scale clearance. Although, when done extensively the effects can be irreversible and when the clearing is minimal the effects can be reversed. The irreversible clearance is a major threat to the environment and can destroy an entire ecosystem causing environmental threats such as greenhouse gas emissions, rise in soil salinity, the destruction of natural habitats for animals, the decrease and even extinction in indigenous flora and fauna, as well as erosion.
