Explain the reaction of calcium oxide and silicon (IV) oxide

Silicon oxide reacts with calcium oxide

SiO2 + CaO → CaSiO3

The product obtained is calcium silicate. This reaction takes place under 1100-1200°C

This reaction is called a neutralisation reaction. Silica and calcium oxide are the main raw material for the manufacturing of the cement.
