Bat wings are made of two thin layers of skin stretched over the bat’s arm and fingers. Bats have a thumb and four fingers. The bat’s fingers are very long compared to its body. Bat wings go all the way downside of the bat’s body, and partway down its legs.Bat wings go all the way down the side of the bat’s body and partway down its legs. Bats can position their wings into different shapes, changing the degree and direction of lift very quickly. This lets them weave and dive in the air like no other animal, giving them a distinct advantage in hunting prey.
