The pituitary gland is one of the parts of the endocrine system. The main function of the pituitary gland is to secrete hormones into the bloodstream. The hormones that are secreted by the pituitary gland has affects organs and glands such as reproductive organs, thyroid, and adrenal gland. This gland is known as master gland as it is involved in many processes.
There are two parts of the pituitary gland and they are:
- Anterior lobe
- Posterior lobe
