When amber is rubbed with wool or silk, amber becomes positively charged. This is explained with the help of the concept of static electricity.
Following are the characteristics of static electricity:
(a) The effects of static electricity are explained with the help of an electric charge.
(b) There are two types of charges and they are positive charge and negative charge.
(c) Like charges repel each other while the unlike charges attract each other.
