Find out five differences between a lunar and a solar calendar.

There are 365 days in a (solar) calendar year (366 days in leap years). There are 12 lunar months in a year, each of which alternates between 30 and 29 days (in leap years, one of the lunar months has a day added).
In contrast to solar calendars, which have annual cycles based solely on the solar year, a lunar calendar is based on the monthly cycles of the Moon’s phases (synodic months).
