Question

Find six rational numbers between 35 and 45

Open in App
Solution

Find the rational number between the two rational numbers.

Rational no is a type of real numbers, which is in the form of pq where q not equal to 0. Any fraction with non-zero denominators is a rational number.

Let x be a rational no such that x is less then the 16th of the difference between the upper limit and lower limit.

x<16·45-35x<16·15x<130

Say x=140.

From the property of rational number we know that sum of two rational number is a rational number.

So we can say the rational in between 35 and 45 are of form 35+n140 where n=1,2,...,6

the rational numbers are

35+140,35+240,35+340,35+440,35+540,35+640.

=2540,2640,2740,2840,2940,3040.

Hence, the six rational numbers between 2 and 3 are 2540,2640,2740,2840,2940,3040..
