We have to find the √24

Solution

Let us reduce √24 to the root of a number with a perfect square multiplied by some other whole number.

The factors of 24:

1,4,6,8,12,24

Out of these, 4 is the largest perfect square present.

4 X 6=24

Hence √24 can be written as

√24=√4⋅6=√4⋅√6 ———-(i) [ √ab=√a⋅√b]

Also we know that √4=2

So equation (i) can be written as

√4⋅√6=2√6

Answer

Hence √24 =2√6
