Solution

Spiny fruits:

  1. Breadfruit, jackfruit, and black mulberry are examples of plants that produce prickly fruits.
  2. As the fruit develops, all elements of the flower (styles, stamens, and petals) are lost, leaving only the sepals, which are transformed to become spines.

Spiny stems:

  1. Rose, sago palm, and cactus are examples of plants that have prickly stems.
  2. Technically, a thorn is a modified, sharp-pointed stem. It grows in the axil of a leaf, where a branch would normally sprout.

Red flowers:

  1. Cardinal, anthurium, and hibiscus are plants that produce crimson blooms.
  2. Hibiscus are perennial plants that may grow up to 8 feet tall.
  3. The leaf of the hibiscus is normally two to three inches long and three-lobed, with a diamond or oval shape depending on the species.

Yellow flowers:

  1. The plant produces yellow flowers, such as roses, sunflowers, and tulips.
  2. Rose leaves are alternating, oval tot-s lanceolate in shape, and frequently have a toothed or lobed edge (dentate).

Leaves that close at night:

  1. Tulips, hibiscus, and poppies are examples of plants with night-closing leaves.
  2. Tulips are upright flowers with long, wide, parallel-veined leaves and a cup-shaped, single, or double bloom at the stem's top.

Single-seeded fruits:

  1. Peach, mango, and cherry are examples of plants that produce single-seeded fruits.

Many-seeded fruits:

  1. The plant produces many-seeded fruits such as apples, watermelon, and guava.
  2. Apple (Malus Domestica), one of the most commonly grown tree fruits, is the fruit of the domesticated tree Malus Domestica (family Rosaceae).
