Maize contains scattered vascular bundles as it is a monocot plant.
Vascular bundles are skull shaped and scattered in the ground tissue. Vascular bundles are conjoint, collateral, endarch and closed. Each vascular bundle is surrounded by a few layers of sclerenchyma cells called bundle sheath.
The monocot plants have a single cotyledon. They have a fibrous root system, leaves in monocots have parallel venation.
