Solution

Fossil fuels

  1. Plants and animals decompose to produce fossil fuels. These carbon and hydrogen-based fuels are found in the Earth's crust.
  2. Coal, petroleum, and natural gas are examples of this type of fuel. They are currently the world's largest source of energy.
  3. They are exhaustible (limited in quantity) and pollute the air.
  4. Coal and wood, which are both fossil fuels, are also finite energy sources. Because there are only a few reserves available.
  5. Fossil fuels are non-renewable energy sources. As a result, we must protect them.

Coal

  1. It is made up of the lifeless remnants of plants and animals that have been buried for millions of years beneath the earth's crust.
  2. Coal is created over millions of years. Coal demand has increased as a result of industrialization.
  3. Coal, on the other hand, does not replenish itself quickly.
  4. As a result, it is a nonrenewable or finite energy source.

Petroleum

  1. Petroleum is a dark-colored liquid fossil fuel made up of a number of different hydrocarbons. It has a high viscosity. It is an extremely useful source of energy.
  2. The petroleum collected from oil wells, on the other hand, is not directly useable. Because it is impure, it is referred to as crude oil.
  3. This crude oil is refined using a process known as fractional distillation, in which different hydrocarbons separate to form different fractions.
  4. Some of the fractions are petrol, kerosene, paraffin, and diesel. Vehicles run on petrol as fuel. The fractions obtained from crude oil refining are used to make a number of products, including plastics, tires, and synthetic materials like polyester. It's a steady and portable energy source.
  5. As a result, wood is a nonrenewable energy source.

Hence, two energy sources that you would consider to be exhaustible are coal and wood.
