Uses of washing soda:

In glass, soap, and paper industries.
To remove permanent hardness of water.

Uses of baking soda:

As a powder used for baking.
Baking powder is a mixture of baking soda and a mild acid known as tartaric acid. When heated or mixed with water, this mixture releases CO2 gas that makes bread or cake fluffy.
In fire extinguishers.
In soda-acid fire extinguishers, baking soda reacts with hydrochloric acid to release CO2 gas.
