Open in App
Solution

Find H.C.F of two consecutive odd numbers

H.C.F or Highest Common Factor of two or more numbers is the greatest common factor that divides the numbers.

Let us consider two consecutive odd numbers 3 and 5.

Using Prime Factorization method, factors of 3 and 5 are:

3=3×15=5×1

Since, 1 is the only common factor between two consecutive odd numbers 3 and 5.

Similarly, all two consecutive odd numbers have only one common factor i.e., 1

Hence, the H.C.F. of two consecutive odd numbers is always 1.
