Dependence of living organisms on soil:

  1. Soil provides anchorage to the plants, they supply water and minerals to the plants.
  2. They are an important part of the biogeochemical cycle as they help in the recycling of nutrients.
  3. Soil for the land organism is essential because they anchor autotrophs and autotrophs are an important means of survival.

Dependence of aquatic organisms on soil:

  1. Organisms(plants and animals) that live in water are directly or indirectly dependent on soil for their resource.
  2. They might consume food that has been made by the plants in the soil.
