1. Due to deforestation the natural recycling of nutrients from the soil is reduced to a great extent.
2. The recycling of water occurs through the forest cover and it returns to the earth in the form of precipitation.
3. Deforestation causes an enormous increase in the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is the leading factor towards the cause of global warming. This increased global warming disturbs the natural cycle of water.
4. The roots of trees hold the soil tightly, when trees are removed from the soil, the soil becomes loose and thus soil erosion and floods increase to manifolds.
5. Thus, deforestation has a major effect on the environment and the water cycle which leads to a decrease in rainfall.
