How Do Annelid Animals Differ From Arthropods Explain

Annelids and Arthropods are different class of organisms. The difference between annelids and Arthropods are tabulated below

Annelids Arthropods
Metameric segmentation is observed where the body is segmented, from head to tail Incomplete metameric segmentation, the body is not completely segmented
The circulatory system of annelids is closed. Arthropods have an open circulatory system.
The body is divided into several identical segments. The body is divided into a few specialized segments.
Appendages are absent in Annelids. Arthropods have jointed appendages.
They are referred to as segmented worms They are termed as animals with jointed legs
Coelom is the true body cavity they possess Presence of body cavity containing blood known as ‘haemocoel’
Breathing takes place through the skin Breathing takes place through the trachea, gill, book lungs etc
Most of the annelids are hermaphrodites They have separate sexes
