How do plants get energy to perform photosynthesis?

There are three important things that are required:

  • Water
  • Sunlight
  • Carbon dioxide

The energy that is required by the plants to perform photosynthesis is obtained by converting light energy from the sunlight into a chemical reaction in which the molecules of carbon dioxide and water are broke down into simpler forms. These simple forms are known as glucose and oxygen gas.
