Question

How do you find sin-π2?

Open in App
Solution

Use standard Trigonometric angles

We know that,

sin90°=1

The given expression is,

sin-π2=-sinπ2 [sin(-θ)=-sinθ]

sin-π2=-sin180°2 [π=180°]

sin-π2=-sin90°

sin-π2=-1 [sin90°=1]

Hence, the value of sin-π2 is obtained to be -1, using the Trigonometric standard angle table.
