Question

How many days are there in a non-leap year?

Open in App
Solution

Express number of days in a leap year:

  1. The earth takes 365.25 days to complete 1 revolution around the sun.
  2. Thus, every 4 years, an extra day is added to keep the calendar synchronized with the seasonal year.
  3. This extra day is added to the end of February.
  4. Hence, February has 29 days instead of 28 days in a leap year.
  5. The year having 29 days in February is called a leap year.
  6. So, in non-leap years, there are only 365 days.

Therefore, there are 365 days in a non-leap year.
