How much energy is transferred when 10 A current flows through a resistor of 5 ohm for 30 minutes?

Given that

Current flowing through resistors= 10A

Resistance of resistors= 5Ω

Time taken to flow the current = 30 mins= 1800 sec

Let us assume that the energy transferred as E

We know that,

When a current flows through a device, then

Energy transferred = I2R T ————–(i)

where

I is the current flown through device

R is the resistance of device

t is the time for which current is flown

Substituting the given values in equation (i) we get,

E = (10)2 X 5 X 1800

E= 100X 5 X 1800

E = 9oooooo J

or E = 900 kJ

Hence 900kJ is the energy transferred when 10 A current flows through a resistor of 5 ohm for 30 minutes.
