Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Defining a Leap year.

  1. A Leap year has 29 days in February Month and 366 days in total.
  2. A year is termed as leap year if it is divisible by 4.
  3. Years that are divisible by 100 cannot be termed leap years. They must be divisible by 400 to be called a leap year.

Examples:

2016 is an example of a leap year as,

201620164=504

1900 is not a leap year as it is divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400.

1600 is a leap year as it is divisible by 100 and also divisible by 400.

Hence, a year with the above properties is termed a leap year.
