How to find the leap year ?

Step 1: Defining a Leap year.

1. A Leap year has 29 days in February Month and 366 days in total.
2. A year is termed as leap year if it is divisible by $4$.
3. Years that are divisible by $100$ cannot be termed leap years. They must be divisible by $400$ to be called a leap year.

Examples:

$2016$ is an example of a leap year as,

$2016\Rightarrow \frac{2016}{4}=504$

$1900$ is not a leap year as it is divisible by $100$ and not divisible by $400$.

$1600$ is a leap year as it is divisible by $100$ and also divisible by $400$.

Hence, a year with the above properties is termed a leap year.
