A circle is a one-sided shape, but an octagon has eight sides. Because a circle has no vertices, it has no sides. In simple terms, it’s called a closed curved polygon. An octagon, on the other hand, has eight sides due to its eight connected vertices.
As a result, when we assign circle =1, it has just one side, which is a curve, however when we assign octagon =8, it has eight sides, thus we assign 8 to it.
