If the product of two whole numbers is 1, can we say that one or both of them will be 1? Justify through examples.

Justify the given condition with examples:

Numbers from 0 to are whole numbers. So, in the given condition negative number is not applicable.

Examples:

  1. 0×1=0
  2. 1×1=1
  3. 1×2=2
  4. 2×5=10
  5. 3×3=9

As no two whole numbers other than 1 and 1 gives 1 as a product.

Hence, the product of two numbers is 1 only when both the numbers are 1.
