In emulsion what is the state of dispersed phase and dispersion medium?

Open in App
Solution

Emulsion:-

  • An emulsion is a type of colloid where there are two or more than two immiscible liquids phases in which one phase is dispersed in the other continuous phase.
  • One of the liquids present in the emulsion act as the dispersion medium and the others will act as the dispersed phase.
  • We can simply define emulsion as a type of colloid where both the dispersed phase and the dispersion medium are liquids.
  • An example of an emulsion is milk.

Hence, the state of the dispersed phase and dispersion medium in an emulsion is liquid.
