Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of the plant, which have chlorophyll and can capture light for the plant to use that energy and start the chemical reaction. The reactants for photosynthesis are light energy, water, carbon dioxide and chlorophyll, while the products are glucose (sugar), oxygen and water.
