The embryo get embedded in the uterus of the female reproductive system. The female reproductive organ wherein the embryo gets embedded in the wall of the uterus. It is here that that embryo continues its development.
What is uterus?
The uterus is a hollow muscular structure found in the pelvic region of females between the rectum and the bladder. The main function of the uterus is to provide nourishment to the developing foetus until birth.
The embryo over the gestation period(9 months in humans) develops its body parts such as legs, hands, ears, eyes, nose etc. There is an embryonic stage wherein all the parts of the body can be distinguished, the embryo is then termed as the foetus.
