Solution

Rotational kinetic energy:

When a body is rotating in a circular motion, then the energy it possesses due to its motion is known as rotational kinetic energy.

Conversion of rotational kinetic energy:

  1. It can be converted into heat. e.g a rotational grinding cutter, when in operation, produce a lot of sparks while cutting any metal.
  2. It also produces a lot of noise and vibrations, which are also a form of energy.
  3. Rotational Kinetic Energy can also be converted into Linear Kinetic Energy.

Thus, Rotational Kinetic Energy can be converted to Heat, Linear Kinetic Energy, Potential Energy, light and vibrations.
