Solution

Understanding the differences between crystalline and amorphous solid:

Crystalline Solid

Amorphous solid

Crystalline solids are formed when the constituent particles are arranged in a perfect order. The constituent particles of amorphous solid are irregularly arranged.
Crystalline solids have a sharp melting point. Amorphous solids have verying melting point and it has a range.
Crystalline solids give sharp edges upon cutting. Amorphous solids give rough edges upon cutting.
Crystalline solids show anisotropic behaviour. Amorphous solids show isotropic behaviour.
Crystalline solids are rigid and have a definite shape. Amorphous solids do not have a definite shape.
Crystalline solids do not have the tendency to flow.Amorphous solids are super cooled liquids because of their tendency to flow,
Example: Sodium Crystal, Quartz, Example: Quartz Glass, PVC,
