Storage of pollen grains:

  1. Pollen grains are stored in a bank in viable conditions, in liquid nitrogen at the temperature of –196 degrees Celsius.
  2. This method is called cryopreservation.
  3. The lower temperature allows it to store for a longer period of time as it reduces the growth rate of the cells.
