• Group-14 elements, members of the carbon family, are used to make semiconductors.
• For creating N-type semiconductors, the dopant atoms are selected from the Nitrogen Family (Group-15). For example: Phosphorus (${}_{15}{}^{31}\mathrm{P}$), Arsenic (${}_{33}{}^{75}As$), Antimony (${}_{51}{}^{121}\mathrm{As}$).
• For creating P-type semiconductors, the dopant atoms are selected from the Boron Family (Group-13). For example: Boron (${}_5{}^{11}\mathrm{B}$), Arsenic (${}_{31}{}^{70}\mathrm{Ga}$).
