Name the factors on which momentum depends on.

What is momentum?

Momentum is a vector quantity which gives an idea about the motion of a body. It can be both translational and rotational(Angular Momentum).

For translational motion, it is expressed as

P= m.v

For angular momentum,

Mathematically, L= r × P

Where P is its linear momentum and r is its distance from its axis of rotation.

The momentum of a body depends upon the following factors :

  •  Mass of a body.
  •  Velocity of a body.
