Microorganisms:

  1. An organism can be seen only through a microscope called a microorganism.
  2. It includes bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and algae.

Bacteria:

  1. Bacteria are microscopic single-celled organisms that are present in every environment both outside and inside other organisms.
  2. Some bacteria are harmful.
  3. They support several forms of life, including both plants, and animals.
  4. Example: Bacillus, Spirullina.

Fungi:

  1. Fungi are everywhere in very large numbers in the soil, air, lakes, rivers, and seas.
  2. Example: Mushrooms, morels.

Algae:

  1. Algae are aquatic organisms, occurring in marine, and fresh-water forms.
  2. Algae play an important role to conduct photosynthesis.
  3. Example: seaweeds and pond scum.

Protozoa:

  1. Protozoa are single-celled organisms.
  2. They occur in various shapes and sizes.
  3. Some of these organisms are parasitic, i.e., they live on other plants and animals including humans.
  4. Example: Entamoeba, Leishmania.
