The process of vein formation on the leaf is known as venation. The two types of venation are
- Reticulate venation
- Parallel venation
Reticulate venation – Reticulate venation includes irregular vein arrangement for the creation of a network.
Examples: Hibiscus, papaya, leaves of Tulsi, Coriander, China Rose, Mangifera,
Parallel venation – Parallel venation means that the veins run parallel to each other.
Examples: Grains, Musa, Grass, Oryza.
