Solution

Degree scale and Fahrenheit scale:-

  1. A thermometer is a device that measures the temperature of a body. It is a measure of the extent of the hotness and coldness of a body.
  2. Basically, there are three common units for measuring temperatures such as Kelvin, Celsius, and Fahrenheit. But the body temperature is measured only in either degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius.
  3. The standard in most countries is degrees Celsius whereas, in the United States, the temperature is often measured in degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. According to the question, it is given that Raina and Dheeraj measured their body temperature with different thermometers. Raina found it to be 37° Celsius and Dheeraj recorded 98.6° degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. We know that the normal body temperature of the human body is 37°C or 98.6°F. This is an average normal body temperature.
  6. The normal body temperature is an oral temperature measured from the mouth i.e. either 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Here, both Raina and Dheeraj have normal temperatures but they measured their body temperature with different thermometers. One thermometer shows temperature in degrees Celsius and the other one shows in degrees Fahrenheit.
