Right-angled prism:

  1. It is an optical prism.
  2. It is designed to deviate light at 90°or 180° and hence it is used for rotating the images.
  3. The joining edges and faces are perpendicular to each other.
  4. It has a simple geometry of a 45°right triangle.
  5. In the standard configuration, it is oriented in such a way that the short face(leg) faces the light source and will get reflected from the hypotenuse at a 90° angle in total internal reflection, then emerge from another short leg.
  6. All the joining faces are rectangular.
