Solution

What is an Electromagnet?

An electromagnet is a temporary magnet that behaves like a magnet when an electric current is passed through the insulated copper wire and loses its magnetism when the current is stopped. It has a soft iron piece called the core with an insulated copper wire wound on it.

Ways by which the strength of an electromagnet can be increased

  1. By increasing the current flowing in the coil.
  2. By increasing the number of turns in the coil.
  3. By inducing the length of the air gap between the poles.
