Solution

Which is the correct statement and explain why?

All planets revolve around the sun in a definite path, known as orbit. Every planet has a unique orbit around the sun. For this reason, none of the planets revolving around the sun collide. A planet moves around the sun in a definite path due to the combined effect of forces of gravity and movements of the planet. The sun has a much higher gravitational force than a planet because of its greater mass. Kepler formulated three laws which are known as Kepler’s laws of planetary motion. It states that all the planets move around the sun in orbit. These orbits are of the elliptical shape having their centre as the sun.
