Open in App
Solution

Steppes are a type of region characterized by vast, wide-open grasslands. Trees are generally absent, except near lakes or rivers. The climate of the steppes varies from region to region. For example, the steppes found in Europe and Central Asia are considered Cold Steppes as summers are warm and winters are extremely cold.

Other regions such as Sicily in Italy, Greece and parts of Athens experience warmer climates. These regions are known as Subtropical steppes.
